Experience an unforgettable formula car driving school, where you will learn some of the skills of a professional driver in a Formula Arcobaleno race car!

The ideal gift for that racing enthusiast in your family, this Experience provides a taste of the world of formula car racing! You will learn the basics of race driving with several sessions in our Formula Race cars culminating in a Lapping Session on your own!
 

The Experience begins in the classroom where you'll cover such topics as:

• Introduction to the instructors and an overview of what to expect from the day
• The gearbox
• The tires

From there you'll head trackside for the following:

• Introduction to Formula Car and its controls
• Students fitted to racecar
• Instructions for first exercise
• 2 Lead / Follow Formula Car Lapping Sessions
• 1 Touring car lapping session with an Instructor
• Open lapping session

Upon completion of this Experience you'll have gained a new appreciation for what it takes to be a competitive racing driver, as well as having gained some new skills in a fun, relaxed and safe environment!

A waiver of liability must be read and signed prior to participation.
Previous experience with manual transmission is required.
This Experiences goes rain or shine.

Light comfortable clothing, including light weight shoes (we provide the driving suits and helmets).

A. It varies per driver, but on average you'll have 20-30 laps on the track across the four sessions

FORMULA ARCOBALENO
The Arcobaleno is a slicks and wings single seater Race Car, that offers high performance and maximum safety. With a power to weight ratio that exceeds 90% of all Super Cars the Formula Arcobaleno is a very serious car, yet at the same time relatively easy to drive.

 

TECHNICAL DETAILS

• Chassis: Cro-moly tube space frame, with aluminium panels riveted and glued to frame
• Suspension: Full adjustable double wishbone, with push rods and horizontal coil over dampers
• Brakes: 270mm 4 piston ventilated front discs, single rear ventilated disc 240 mm
• Engine: 4 cylinder, 4 stroke, 20 valves, 38 mm carburetors
• Ignition: Fully programmable Rainbow Spark by Pegaso (8,000 to 12,000 rpm)
• Max Power: 140 HP at 10,000 rpm.
• Gearbox: 5 speed sequential.
• Rims: Speedline centre stud Magnesium 6.5" x 13" front, 8" X 13" rear
• Tires: AVON Slicks (195 x 13" front), (225 x 13" rear)
• Wings: Adjustable front and rear wings already low velocity operation

Meet your Chief Instructor, Terry Johns...

Terry Johns has been involved in competitive Motor Sport for the past 45 years. During that time Terry has raced Karts, Group ‘A’ Rally Cars, Formula Ford, Formula Atlantic and worked as an instructor at three of the UK’s leading Race Tracks. A former BTRDA Champion and ASWMC Rally Champion, Terry brings his many years of valuable experience to these popular events.

Other Restrictions

During your Experience there may be up to 9 people in total. This is because the day is made available to individuals who are in possession of their own cars. There are a total of 4 spaces available to non-owners.

Once you have booked a date for your Experience we will require a minimum of 6 weeks notice should you wish to cancel. If you need to cancel within 6 weeks of your booked date then we will do our best to accommodate you but we regret that in the majority of cases it will not be possible for you to cancel and reschedule. If we are able to cancel your booking, per our terms and conditions you will not be able to receive a refund (you will, however, be able to reschedule your date).
