Experience a hands-on digital photography lesson in the heart of the city! These walking tours are different from regular classroom courses and are the best way for beginner photographers to learn!  On our walking photography tours participants are outside actively taking lots and lots of photographs, practicing what is taught, and truly having a hands-on and interactive experience.

During your photography walking tour you'll explore the downtown core of either Calgary or Edmonton.  Why downtown?  The downtown core offers the best examples of showcasing what is taught, and students get to practice their skills at the most appropriate and iconic sites in a hands-on and experiential manner.

Each walking tour offers students a showcase of their own city and provides the best examples for practicing photographic techniques and skills.  By actually photographing prime iconic city locations, our experience has been that students learn much faster, and walking photography courses are much more effective than other methods. The classes include both an outdoor and indoor component that may change depending on weather conditions.  Our instructors will make sure that participants stay warm, dry and cozy while covering all course material.

Our photographic walking tours are excellent for beginner photographers learning to master their camera, and each participant will receive a certificate of completion immediately following the course.

Digital Photography I
Grasp the fundamentals of photography for a variety of situations and learn how to take some of those great photographic shots that really impress! The Digital 1 course is our most popular and it introduces beginner photographers to the fantastic and wonderful world of digital photography. This hands-on course is designed specifically for Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras (DSLR) and to help you understand the basics while practicing and photographing iconic city locations. Digital 1 covers the basics of how to take amazing photographs! We take pride on supplying simple tips and techniques to help you to shoot better and cover fundamental topics such as using available light, controlling depth of field, perspective, contrast and composition. Technical topics include: Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO, white balance, photographic hardware and lens selection, storage mediums and much more! You will familiarize yourself with your camera and feel much more confident about capturing the moment and expressing your photographic creativity!

Digital Photography II
Digital 2 is designed to impart a higher level of photographic skill to the amateur photographer. This hands-on course starts with a very fast review of the basics of digital photography and quickly moves the participant into the wonderful world advanced photography. The course assumes a basic level of competence with a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera and topics covered during the day include: sensor size and photography equipment, time elapsed photography, the use of polarizing and neutral density filters, high dynamic range, hyper-focal length, creating a panoramic photo, and long exposure and night photography. Digital 2 is designed for the amateur photographer ready to take their skills to the next level. The condensed one-day format is ideal for aspirational photographers, people considering a career in photography, professionals, executives, students, parents, self-employed; and anyone who is tight on time and wants to further develop their skills over a full day.
