Here's the perfect chance for you and your family to witness one of nature's most awesome spectacles a scant one hour from Whistler & Vancouver. Each winter we offer an intimate view of the astonishing bald eagle migration and salmon spawn in the scenic Squamish River Valley. In the United States, the bald eagle is still a rare and endangered species. Here in Canada we are more fortunate.
A photographers dream, the Eagle Safari is suitable for everyone including kids as young as 4. It's a wonderful winter experience for visitors to Whistler and Vancouver, as well as local school groups, college groups, Girl Guides, and Boy Scouts. We think you'll agree there is no better way to appreciate bald eagles as the natural history of the region comes to life in this outdoor classroom.
During your 1-2 hour gentle float down the Squamish River in our expedition-style boats, you'll not only experience bald eagles and salmon in their natural habitat, but also the tremendous scenery that illustrates the beauty of British Columbia. You'll see eagles by the hundreds as they sit in the trees and feast on spawning salmon. In recent years upwards of 3700 eagles have been counted in the corridor. Often you'll be able to spot spawning salmon as they struggle to lay their eggs in the gravel spawning grounds of this scenic river.
Your river journey will take you through some of British Columbia's most inspiring wilderness. As you and your crew cut through the coastal temperate rain forest don't forget to take time to reconnect with our world-class scenery including the towering glaciers and frozen waterfalls of the Tantalus Range off in the distance. This tour is a photographer's dream. Our on-board hot chocolate makes it even better.
