Your experience will begin with a lesson on the ground to prepare you to fly the hang glider, so that once airborne you can actually have hands-on control and experience how easy it really is to learn to fly a hang glider yourself. Anyone who rides a bicycle already has the basic skills necessary to fly a weight shift Hang Glider!
Pulling on the right “handlebar” makes the wing turn right, and leaning forward makes the wing fly faster just as if you were leaning forward to pedal faster on a bicycle. Your instructor will tailor your hang glider flight to fulfill the kind of experience that you dreamed about: Gentle, Aerobatic, Sky-High, Scenic, Cross Country, Thermal Soaring, or a bit of everything.
We offer hang gliding year round because winter flying is just as much fun, the cool air provides smoother conditions for learning, and on mild days it will actually feel warmer and more comfortable than summer flying with the appropriate clothing!
