Experience Ontario's wildlife up close with this amazing photography workshop held at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre! Throughout the workshop your instructor will teach you all about which settings and functions to use on your camera to get the best shots of the subjects. You will learn about composition, backgrounds, lighting and more!

Throughout the workshop the handlers at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre will bring a wonderful variety of species outside of their enclosures for some amazing photo opportunities. The handlers will be bringing us species such as Bobcat, Lynx, Red Fox, Timber and Arctic Wolves, Cougar, Moose, Wolverine and more! Bird species include Barn Owls, Great Horned Owls and Peregrine Falcons.  There will be ample shooting opportunities with each species and you'll come away with plenty of great photographs!

• Expert photographic instruction and guiding.

• Two full days of photography (9am pre-shoot instruction, followed by photography from 10am until dusk), so you'll be sure to come away with some great images and memories!

Recommended Clothing

You will be outdoors, so dress for the weather. We recommend that you dress in layers and bring a backpack with some wet weather clothing.

Q. What equipment do I need?
A. For this seminar/workshop you will need to have a point and shoot digital camera that you can zoom and has the capability to manually set all of the camera functions or a digital SLR camera with interchangeable lenses. For those with a digital SLR camera body you will need a good zoom lens or a fixed focal length lens in the 300mm range. You will also need a tripod or monopod, hiking boots, bug repellent and/or a bug jacket. Rain wear for inclement weather is a good idea and don't forget your memory cards, batteries and a battery charger. Lastly, you'll need a good backpack to hike with.

Q. Where is the accommodation?
A. The accommodation is the Kahshe Motel Camp & Trailer Park, located in Kilworthy (6km north of Severn Bridge). This is a delightful scenic park with waterfalls, a sandy beach for swimming, canoeing and hiking trails.
