Bird and Nature Photography 101

Experience exceptional photographic instruction and an action-packed day with this one-day Bird and Nature Photography Workshop. These workshops are ideal for those looking to learn all of the basics of bird and nature photography as well as going out and shooting raptors in flight all in the same day. This is a combined classroom and outdoor workshop.

Learn the basics of your camera functions and how to apply them in the field. Understand aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how they work together and what each one does to your image. You will learn how to read a histogram and what it is trying to tell you. We will spend the morning in the classroom and then head outside for some shooting!  Learn how to shoot your subject with proper lighting, composition, aperture settings, shutter speed and ISO functions.

After learning the basics of your camera function and settings you'll take the raptor birds in flight photography challenge. Our Falconer will bring out selected raptors for a unique experience as the raptor flies towards your lens! Our instructor will teach you the necessary techniques to photograph beautiful perched images and raptors in flight.  He will share his "tricks of the trade" and work with you to capture your own raptor images, both static and in-flight. In addition, you'll learn how to use background setting to complement your subject best, all the while gaining an education on the subject species. Our workshop leader will also be bringing the Bush Hawk Camera Mount, ideal for Action Flight Photography!
